DO YOU HAVE A WART?

Posted on November 27, 2015 Written by Kew Foot Clinic

What is a wart?

Warts are viral skin growths, they can appear on any part of the body – Podiatrists treat those that appear on the feet.

How do we manage them?

At Kew Foot Clinic we use a prescription medication. This solution is applied to the affected area, causing a blister to form underneath the wart within 24 hours. Some side effects are possible but it is the most successful treatment available in Australia at present.

How many treatments will I need?

  • The number of treatments is dependent on the size and number of warts.
  • As the virus lives deep within the skin, warts can be resistant to treatment.
  • Wart treatments work by shedding top layers of skin, allowing subsequent treatments to reach a deeper layer.
  • Our Podiatrists gives specific instructions regarding management after treatment, and a review appointment is scheduled for approximately 2 weeks later.

If you have any further questions please give the clinic a call on 9853 6877 to have a discussion with one of our experienced and friendly podiatrists.
